Executive Committee

Function
The Executive Committee is responsible for carrying out the purpose of the Society, as stated in Article III of the Bylaws.

Leadership and Composition
As stipulated in the SPNHC Bylaws:

ARTICLE VI. OFFICERS
Section 1. Executive Officers. The executive officers shall be the President, the Past-President, the President-Elect, the Secretary, the Treasurer, and the Managing Editor of the Society’s publications. Executive officers are required to be Regular or Honorary, or Life members in good standing.

With the exception of the positions of Treasurer and Managing Editor, which are appointed by the President with the approval of a majority of the Council members, executive officers are elected by a plurality of votes cast by voting members of the Society (see Article VI Sections 6 and 7 of the Bylaws).

Duties
The Executive Committee is responsible to the membership of the Society and represents them while carrying out the day-to-day business of the Society, as stated in Article VI Sections 2 to 5 of the Bylaws.

Calendar Items
As a committee, the Executive does not have specific calendar items as such, but a duty to keep an overview on other committees’ timelines and responsibilities.
