NMNH Paleobiology Collections Management Positions
The Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) is pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for multiple Museum Specialist (Geology) positions in the Department of Paleobiology working with invertebrate, plant, and vertebrate fossil collections. These are permanent, full-time, Federal positions at the NMNH in Washington, DC, with a starting salary and grade at the GS-9 level, with promotion potential to GS-11.
The Museum Specialists will join the Paleobiology Collections Management Team, which stewards one of the world’s largest collections of fossil invertebrates, plants, and vertebrates from diverse localities and geologic ages. The positions involve collections-based tasks including but not limited to the physical care of paleontology collections, collections documentation and cataloging, providing collections access to researchers, and utilizing collection information systems and databases.
