The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is pleased to announce that we are recruiting for a skilled Fossil Preparator who is passionate about public engagement to join the SECU DinoLab team in Raleigh, NC. Located in the heart of the Research Triangle, this opportunity offers the chance to work alongside leading scientists while inspiring the public through science communication and discovery.

This unique position combines hands-on fossil preparation with public engagement in one of the nation’s leading natural history museums. The SECU DinoLab is a fully operational, public-facing research laboratory where visitors can witness real paleontological science in action.

Key responsibilities include:
🔹 Fossil preparation and conservation for scientific research
🔹 Public engagement through tours, outreach, and presentations
🔹 Collaboration with Paleontology Curators on Triassic and Cretaceous ecosystem research
🔹 Supporting a dynamic, team-centered research environment

Preferred experience includes fossil preparation techniques, specimen conservation, digitization technologies, 3D modeling, micropreparation, molding/casting, and related paleontology research skills.

💲Recruitment Range: $41,206 – $56,660, with full benefits
