SECU DinoLab, Nature Research Center (NRC), North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences (NCMNS)The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences (NCMNS) invites applicants for the open post of Fossil Preparator in the SECU DinoLab, to assist in the preparation of the Dueling Dinosaurs. Successful candidates will support the fossil preparation activities of this prominent open-concept lab, including high-profile specimens that require detailed and meticulous work.

The NCSM is the largest natural history museum in the southeastern US and a global leader in science communication, citizen science, and collections-based research. It houses six modern research laboratories (Genomics & Microbiology, Astrophysics, Biodiversity, Paleontology, Evolutionary Biology and Behavior, and now the new DinoLab) in which
scientific staff conduct their research in view of public audiences. The museum also offers experiential learning laboratories, Meet-the-Scientist areas, dynamic presentation spaces, and interactive exhibits that enhance its mission to engage the public in understanding how scientific research impacts their daily lives.

The SECU DinoLab, currently under construction, will be a fully equipped preparation facility capable of handling oversized specimens. Construction is scheduled to be complete by April 2023, with a grand public opening scheduled for November 2023.
