Job Description—

Implement and manage technology in an effort to improve service to Sam Noble Museum researchers, exhibit’s staff and visitors. This position builds and supports technology used in faculty research, permanent Museum exhibits, traveling exhibits, and business operations. This position covers a broad technology portfolio including server administration, network services, security, purchasing and support. This person manages student workers and a budget for their area.

Job Requirements—

Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:

  • 18-36 months IT experience

Skills:

  • Strong initiative to solve problems
  • Customer service
  • Experience with basic tech support

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to stand for 8 hours a day, lift 50 lbs, move, engage in repetitive motion, and communicate effectively.

Department Preferences:

  • Microsoft Server Certifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Server technologies, VMWare, and networking concepts
  • Experience with server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policies, server back-ups, and Disaster Recovery
  • Experience managing Point-of-Sale
  • Experience with access control systems, Firewalls, and VPN’s
