Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History

Reporting to the Director of Collections and Research of the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, the Registrar will oversee all registrar tasks with a high level of understanding of museum standards and practices to support the Museum’s exhibitions and permanent collection programs. Under limited supervision and exhibiting significant initiative, the position will be responsible for overseeing object registration, working with lenders and couriers, installation oversight, managing the inventory of incoming collections (including examination of condition, documentary photography, and accessioning), and working with the Museum’s teams for exhibitions.

Required Education and Experience:  Bachelor’s Degree in Museum Studies or related field and four years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Strong work ethic and ability to excel in a fast-paced, results oriented, and community environment. Highly proficient at taking initiative, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines. Highly proficient at managing multiple priorities while exceeding expectations. Knowledge of museum best practices and standards. Proficiency in object handling.
