Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for the position of Research Associate. This position will primarily oversee the daily operations of Southeastern’s Vertebrate Museum, along with updating the museum’s database and establishing a presence online. Other duties include curating and re-curating ichthyological and herpetological museum specimens, as well as continuing outreach and education programs for K-12 schools and other relevant user groups in the region.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Biology from an accredited university.
Experience in a natural history museum setting or working with museum specimens and databasing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with the museum management software, SPECIFY.
Experience with education/outreach activities.
