Newsletter Guidelines for Authors General formatting guidelines:
Please include a title page with author name, affiliation and contact information, along with any co-authors and their affiliations.
Length should be within 1000 words (longer articles may be submitted for publication in the Collection Forum)
Single-spaced – entire document including tables, figure captions, appendices (This may seem weird, but it’s easier for me when copying to inDesign)
Standard 12 point font for text (Arial, Courier, Helvetica, Times New Roman)
Use a single space after colons and periods.
Do not use right-justified text; do not hyphenate words at right margin; do not use footnotes.
Send Tables as separate Word or multiple sheet Excel documents, labeled Table_#
Send Figures as separate, individual jpg, or tiffs with a minimum resolution of 300 ppi
Vector based line drawings are also accepted as .ai files.
Be sure to include figure captions and photo credits
Style and Abbreviations:
Symbols, units, and nomenclature should conform to international usage. Cite all references in the text in parentheses by author and date, not separated by a comma, in the order of author name, separated by semi-colon. For example, (Deer et al. 1992; Fraser & Freihofer 1971; Mahoney 1973; Taylor 1967).
Literature Cited:
Literature cited includes only references cited in the manuscript. List references alphabetically by author names in the following respective formats:
